Maryann Corey, CEO Chief Executive Officer
Maryann Corey is Co-founder CEO of The Portable Playhouse. Since conception of The Portable Playhouse, Maryann has worked with over 50,000 hospitalized children and women. Maryann chaired and was responsible for organizing an international fund raising event for 4 years to help benefit educational programs in her school district. She worked in a Learning-thru-the-Arts special education program at the high school level, for 6 years. She worked as fund developer for a non-profit organization, The National Council of Drug and Alcohol of Hudson County. Maryann has received numerous awards for her dedication and humanitarian services towards hospitalized children. Maryann has six children. Maryann is an active beader, potter and enjoys many art mediums.
Mary Patricia McGeary, COO Chief Operating Officer
Mary Patricia McGeary is Co-founder COO of The Portable Playhouse. She began her career in the financial services sector almost 20 years ago. She continued to advance her career by obtaining management positions with brokerages firms and major banks in New York City. In late 1989, Patty began consulting for the financial services sector, specializing in operational efficiency analysis and systems implementations. In 2003, Patty moved into the healthcare sector and managed the implementations of e-commerce projects at GE Healthcare. Currently, Patty manages a group of business analysts for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates information technology organization. From the time Patty and her sister, Mary Ann Corey, co-founded The Portable Playhouse in 2001, Patty has held many roles in the organization, from volunteering at Massachusetts General Hospital to managing administrative functions. Patty sits on the Executive Council and is an active member in her church, Immanuel Lutheran in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Patty holds a Bachelor of Arts, Business Management degree from Franklin Pierce College.
Christine Sacco, Treasurer
Christine Sacco, Treasurer, is currently the Vice President and Divisional Controller at Smart Balance Inc., a publicly traded consumer foods company and a mother of beautiful twin boys. Prior to her career at Smart Balance, Christine was the Vice President and Treasurer at Alpharma Inc., a publicly traded specialty pharmaceutical company, where she began her tenure as Director, Financial Reporting. Christine also held several management and senior accounting positions at Ernst & Young, LLP, in the Audit and Assurance practice. She is a member of Smart Balance’s Financial Disclosure Committee, a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Michael John Ryan, Esq.
Michael graduated cum laude from Loyola College in Maryland in 2003, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. After working for a private corporation in New York City for a year after graduating, Michael then enrolled at the University of Miami School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor Degree in 2007. Since then, Michael has been working as a litigator for a small, boutique trial law firm in New York City. Michael is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Connecticut, and the Federal District Courts in New York and New Jersey.
Jeannie Rita Ryan, Secretary
Jeannie Ryan, Secretary, was born in New York and raised in New Jersey. She has 2 children, 1 beautiful grandchild Alice, and comes from a family of five children. Jeannie was a member of the Board of Recreation in her town for five years, organizing and maintaining the girl’s athletic programs. She also participated in many parish productions, on stage and behind the scenes. Currently Miss Ryan works in a private medical practice as a medical assistant and phlebotomist.
Sean Michael Corey, Creative Director
Sean holds a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia and Web Design from The Art Institute of Philadelphia. He has done work for various publicly traded fortune 500 companies. He has been designing and developing on the web for about 5 years now, and is currently the lead web developer for one of Pennsylvania’s leading marketing agencies.
Advisory Board Members
Mary Ann Cernak, Ph.D., LCSW, CCO, Grants and Development
Mary Ann Cernak is a licensed clinical social worker. She has over 20 years of experience providing a wide range of mental health services to youth and families. This includes: provision of screening; crisis intervention and stabilization; brief and long-term treatment to individuals, families and groups; consultation and training for a wide range of professionals, program development and evaluation. She has served in a wide range of leadership roles at several New Jersey mental health centers. Mary Ann has been a chair and member of numerous state and county committees charged with developing, modifying and changing policies related to youth and families. She has both volunteered and been recruited to serve in a number of community disasters that include: September 11, 2001, Hurricane Floyd and the Edison Pipeline explosion. Mary Ann also is Vice-Chairperson for the Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy a non-profit organization raising funds to build a child-friendly facility for victims of child abuse. Last but not least, Mary Ann is also a very active beader; she has been designing and selling jewelry for over 10 years.
Julie Sue Auslander
Julie earned her Master of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Columbia University, and her B.Sc. from New York’s Pace University. She is currently founder and President of Corporate Subscriptions Management Services LLC. Julie is a member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
